“Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.”

2 Corinthians 9:10-12

Over the last ten years we have witnessed God do the miraculous at City Church. As we look to the next ten years, we believe the best is yet to come. Therefore, we are taking a bold step of faith to strengthen our commitment to the mission God has laid before us. Through this initiative, we will make room for more people to encounter the hope of Jesus by renovating and expanding within our building.
‍

We also hope to expand our care to the community through the development of an outreach center in our neighborhood.

Making Room for Immeasurably More

A Note from Chris

It’s hard to believe City Church is celebrating ten years of ministry. What started as a launch team of 50 people has turned into an incredible movement of thousands of diverse, devoted, disciples of Jesus on mission together for the glory of God.

Lives have been changed. Marriages have been healed. Families have been restored. Addicts have been set free. Young men and women have been discipled. Older men and women have been called into ministry and leadership. Our church has become a beautiful reflection of the Kingdom of God in every way. We are a multi-ethnic, multi-economic, and multi-generational church that is changing countless lives for all of eternity. All glory to King Jesus!

Ten years ago, I could have never imagined I would get to witness this kind of move of God. He has done immeasurably more than I could have asked or imagined. One of the most consistent statements I have made in the last couple of years is that we are in a season of “good problems.” Every church has problems, so we would rather have good ones than bad ones. Yet, a good problem is still a problem.

We are literally overflowing in every way. Not only are we overflowing with people, but we are overflowing with gratitude for his faithfulness to fulfill his promises. As a result, the only right response is to overflow with generosity back to him as we respond to these good problems together.

I hope and pray that you’ll join me as we step into the OVERFLOW.

The plan

Making Room

As God continues to bring people of every age and background through the doors of City Church, our plan is to renovate nearly 15,000 square feet of unfinished space in our facility. This will create more room to welcome kids, students, and adults—especially those who have yet to meet Jesus.

Overflow Venue

As God continues to bring people of every age and background through the doors of City Church, our plan is to renovate nearly 15,000 square feet of unfinished space in our facility. This will create more room to welcome kids, students, and adults—especially those who have yet to meet Jesus.

This project will create warm, inviting environments where children feel known and discover who Jesus is; a life-giving space where students build meaningful relationships and grow in their faith; and more spaces where adults can find community, receive training, and become deeply rooted disciples of Jesus.

We will also equip spaces throughout the building with the furnishings, technology, storage, and ministry resources needed to serve multiple purposes effectively. From Sunday services to classes, small groups, leadership development, and ongoing ministry throughout the week, each space will be intentionally designed to help people connect, grow, and take their next step.

This renovation is about more than finishing unfinished space. It is about removing barriers, strengthening our ministries, and preparing our building to serve more people throughout the week. Together, these projects will help us make room for the people God is bringing today and those He will bring in the years ahead.

Kids Ministry

Four new classrooms will create space for up to 150 more children at each Sunday service, allowing more families to worship and grow at City Church. Throughout the week, these flexible rooms will provide much-needed space for classes, small groups, ministry training, and intentional discipleship.

A dedicated Kids Ministry resource room will provide our leaders and volunteers with an organized, centralized space to prepare lessons, store supplies, and support excellent ministry each week. Improvements to our existing classrooms, including replacing baby gates with Dutch doors, will create safer, more welcoming, and more engaging spaces for children, families, and volunteers.

Together, these improvements will help us do more than accommodate growth. They will help us create environments where every child feels known, loved, and excited to learn about Jesus, and where we can invest in the faith of the next generation.

Parking Lot

Our parking lot is the first impression people have when they arrive. Redesigning, resurfacing, and expanding it will add approximately 100 parking spaces, creating more room for our growing church and the many people who use our building throughout the week.

A more intentional traffic-flow pattern will make entering, parking, and exiting smoother and faster, especially between Sunday services and during large events. Improved circulation will also help reduce congestion and create a safer, more welcoming experience for families, guests, volunteers, and those with accessibility needs.

This project is about more than adding parking spaces. It is about removing a practical barrier and making it easier for people to worship, connect, and take their next steps at City Church.

Facility Improvements

As we continue to grow, every part of our building should help people feel welcomed, connected, and prepared to take their next step. Strategic facility and technology improvements will help our spaces serve people more effectively.

New interior and exterior signage will create a clearer, more welcoming experience from the moment people arrive, helping guests and families confidently navigate the building and find worship, kids’ environments, classrooms, and other ministry spaces.

An upgraded sound system in the lobby and multipurpose areas will support classes, training, events, and large gatherings. New LED screens in the lobby will allow people outside the auditorium to remain connected to the service, while enhanced broadcast technology will deliver a reliable, high-quality worship experience to the new overflow venue.

Together, these improvements will create a more connected and effective ministry environment that helps every space support worship, build community, and make room for more people to encounter Jesus.

Outreach Center

There are significant needs within our church and throughout our community. Over the last ten years, God has enabled City Church to respond in practical, tangible ways by serving families, forming meaningful relationships, and sharing the hope of Jesus. As we look toward the next ten years, we believe He is inviting us to have an immeasurably greater impact.

Our Stretch Goal is to is to acquire a facility in our neighborhood and develop it into a dedicated outreach center. This center will serve as an outpost of ministry - a visible, accessible place where our church can respond to the most pressing needs of our congregation and community.

The facility will create opportunities to provide practical resources, offer care and support, develop community programs, and partner with organizations already serving our city. Its flexible design will allow the ministry within it to grow and adapt as we listen to our neighbors and better understand their needs.

The outreach center will also mobilize more people from our church body to serve throughout the week. It will bring volunteers, ministry leaders, and community partners together to strengthen families, invest in individuals, and build relationships that foster lasting transformation.

More than another building, this center will extend the mission of City Church deeper into our neighborhood. It will be a place where needs are met, dignity is honored, relationships are built, and people experience the love and hope of Jesus in practical, life-changing ways.

WHAT IS A
ONE-FUND?

A One Fund combines City Church's regular ministry giving and the additional resources needed for expanded ministry and facility priorities into one unified fund for a defined period of time. One Fund means that every gift fuels the mission of City Church—supporting ministry, serving our community, and creating opportunities to reach people with the hope of Jesus. Rather than giving to a general church budget for operations and a separate campaign for facilities, we give together toward one shared vision.

Prayer Guide

Overflow is about more than a building. It is about making room for what God is doing in our church and throughout our city.

As we take this step together, use these prompts to pray for the people, places, and possibilities at the heart of Overflow, and to consider how God may be inviting you to participate through what he has entrusted to you.
